Where they started.
Scoring a round of golf with friends still meant scraps of paper, a notes app, and an argument at the 19th about who actually won. There was no simple, shared way to set up a game, score it hole by hole, and keep a running leaderboard across the season — without a clunky, ad-filled app and an app-store download nobody wants.
The work.
TeeBoxed is a mobile-first web app that does exactly that. You start a session, pick a course, add your players, and score hole by hole — clubs and putts included — with live +/- par for everyone in the group. Finished rounds save to a shared history and feed a season-long leaderboard, so the bragging rights look after themselves. It is built with Next.js and Supabase for instant, real-time updates, and designed to feel like a native app from the home screen in — no download, no friction.
What it did.
- A complete, working product — live and playable at the link above
- Real-time, hole-by-hole scoring shared across the whole group
- Installs to the phone home screen and runs like a native app — no app store
- Built end to end: design, app, database and live leaderboard
